CCW Classes for Yuba County Residents

Confidence Safety Academy is an approved CCW instructor for Yuba County. We teach the 16-hour new-permit class ($300) and the 8-hour renewal ($200) in Rocklin and Loomis. Your instructors are Chad Hertzell, a retired CHP officer and former 82nd Airborne paratrooper, and Mindy Hertzell.

How the Yuba County process works

• Apply online at yubaca.permitium.com. Current fees are listed in the portal. Fingerprinting (Live Scan) is extra.

• The Sheriff schedules an interview as part of the process.

• Your instructor has to be a DOJ-certified CCW instructor and fill out the Yuba County CCW Training and Qualification Form. We do both.

• Take the class and qualify with each gun you want on your permit. Every gun has to be registered to you.

• Upload your county training form to the portal. You have 90 days, starting when your background is approved or when you get the form from your instructor.

• Renewing: you can apply starting 30 days before your permit expires, and you'll need a new Live Scan. If it's been expired 90 days or more, you start over as a new applicant.

Questions about your application go to the Yuba County Sheriff's Office at 530-749-7777. Questions about the class go to us.
